And all was right with the world!

I’m going to keep this short, because I’m balls tired, but MAN I got in some good TV tonight.

Gossip Girl had a twist I didn’t expect.

How I Met Your Mother was actually kinda good (although, has anyone else noticed that Lilly has gotten kinda really whiny since the whole baby thing?).

And 2 Broke Girls was cute as usual. I love the new eye candy addition (Ryan Hansen) too. šŸ˜‰

So maybe it was because I’m feeling a little better from being sick, or maybe it was that TV land got its act together, but I don’t care. I was entertained.

The League is knocking it out of the park

Now I know that they watch football and that’s a baseball analogy, but I really couldn’t figure out how to work “touchdown” into the title…

There’s just something about a show that can deliver like this time and time again. In one of the latest episodes of The League they pick on mouth breathers everywhere, referencing pretty much everything that pisses me off with the latest generation of morons (and let’s face it, past generations too…) and it is accurate and daaaaaaaammmmnmnnnnn funny.

So funny in fact that I decided to go ahead and watch this season again, and on the was through IĀ just noticed the doctor delivering Chalupa Batman is the a/c repair school VP from community. Nothing special, I know, but just a little useless factoid for ya.Ā Either way I highly recommend this show to anyone, it pushes a lot of very sick boundaries (especiallyĀ the brother/sister relationship between Ruxon’s wife and brother-in-law… just gross) which just makes it so much better.

Chalupa Batman McArthur and season 4 of The League

I love this show. I have no interest in sports and I still love this show. It’s ridiculous and makes me giggle every couple of seconds. Although I don’t really understand fantasy sports leagues I enjoy the humour and backhanded strange way these friends treat each other in order to win the coveted Shiva trophy and rights to ridicule the lowest scoring member. I suppose it’s guy humour but it still makes me laugh. It’s definitely good for something light and easy.

And another thing, I love Jon LaJoie as Taco (and if you don’t know him please check out the stuff he’s got on YouTube) and the rest of the cast is pretty spot on. I’m really curious to see if the couple that just had a baby will allow the name “Chalupa Batman McArthur” to continue. See? Pretty ridiculous.

I tried to find a clip of that particular song, but here’s this one instead. Equally ridiculous.Ā

** UPDATE **

January 28th, 2013

I look every now and again to see if the Chalupa Batman video somehow manages to become available, and still no… however I did manage to find the soundclip.Ā Thank you to the guy who posted it! Keep in mind that the rest of the shows audio is still in there, so you hear… well… lets just call it the rest of the action…

How I met your sons of anarchy

Yeah, I watched both and now I’m doing a combo post. I’m pretty sure I can’t keep up on my posts otherwise. You’ve all been deprived of my opinions on too many shows already. šŸ˜‰

This episode of Sons of Anarchy was a little more low-key than the previous three episodes. While the season opened with one hell of a bang, this episode really pumped the brakes and gave us a second to mourn for the dearly departed. It sets the tone for the upcoming war and lets us know that the club is not prepared. Personally this feels like it’s going to be one crazy season. The Sons really have no clue what to do about this new bad guy and even admit to so during church, but Damon Pope is clearly not the kind of gangster they’re used to. He uses methods of doing his dirty work that don’t involve getting his own hands dirty, which is pretty much the complete opposite of the bikers.Ā I really am flabbergasted about what’s going to happen next. My best and closestĀ guessĀ is that they’re going to find a crack in Pope’sĀ armorĀ earlier than they thought, and they might just get lucky… yeah, pretty vague, right? The grim reality is that they have a history of snapping on someone atĀ inopportuneĀ times and it generally gets them into trouble, so we’ll all have to wait and see how it goes.

While I was unsatisfied by the premier of the show episode 2 delivered a little better than the last one. While there was still this kind of “blah” quality to it there was a little more of the usual HIMYM that I was used to. I just find that this Barney and Quinn thing is a little uninteresting. Also, why the hell didn’t they explain Robin’s new boyfriend Nick is there or how they found each other again?! they set it up in a previous season as a story, so finish the damn story! I really hope they get into that at least later, other wise it’s kind of like throwing it in there to wrap up a loose end that they didn’t know what to do with. Very unlike How I Met Your Mother. I’m still a little miffed by the show’s direction so far, but I’m willing to stick it out and hope that it keeps going up.
